Business Modeling Using BML for Subject Matter Experts

Overview

Business Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) play an integral role in every Business Co-Formulation (BCF) business modeling workshop. This series of self-paced, web based modules prepares SMEs for their role in these workshops and includes a basic overview of the concepts of business modeling, why business models are created, the purpose for each dimensional model, what BMLTM models need to look like, and how the models are connected into the organization’s initiatives.

Course Objectives
  • Understand how BMLTM methods and tools are used in describing business.
  • Learn how the work and processes they do in their job is translated into BMLTM five distinct dimensions (WHAT, WHO, WHICH, WHERE, and WHEN).
  • Become familiar with the ‘purpose based thinking’ approach used to describe work activities within BMLTM WHAT models.
  • Understand how a work session is facilitated and the expectations of their role as a SME participant.
Audience

Subject Matter Experts (SME) that will participate in facilitated workshops as part of an BMLTM led project within their organization.

Duration
These web-based modules are self paced and will take between 45 minutes to an hour to complete.
